I was the recording engineer at the Royal Academy of Music for 20 years, and worked at Angel Studios in Islington before that. Prior to that I worked with live bands in Sydney pubs while I was getting a music degree.
I have worked with an amazing variety of wonderful artists at the Royal Academy of Music over the years. I love working with real musicians and new music, with live electronics in concerts, in outside venues or studio locations, with large orchestral forces or small ensembles. My recordings range from classical operas conducted Sir Colin Davis and Sir Charles Mackerras, contemporary operas written by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and Judith Weir, orchestral music by Frank Zappa to Jazz duo like Evan Parker and John Stevens and Gwillam Simcock and Kit Downes.

as Kirsten Cowie. Electronic music has always been a special interest of mine and I have worked with many composers in this field, including Tim Souster, Patrick Nunn and Jonathan Harvey. I recently attended a course at IRCAM in Paris on MAX msp and have already written and used a Max patch for the performance of Roger Smalley's Echo III in Kings College Chapel 10th Oct 2015. |
